Anthony is one of Sydney’s leading retail lease lawyers. He is Principal Solicitor at Herro Solicitors.

He acts for clients in drafting, advising and negotiating leases and in resolving lease disputes.

He possesses an in depth knowledge of Retail Leases Legislation (including the Retail Leases Act) and in property law in relation to leases. He has extensive experience in all aspects of retail and commercial leasing- including complex lease negotiations and dispute resolution/litigation of lease disputes.

Anthony is regularly invited to present at seminars for lawyers and other professionals on retail leasing including seminars for the Australian Property Institute (API), Legalwise Seminars, LexisNexis, the New South Wales State Legal Conference, the College of Law (Continuing Professional Education) the Eastern Suburbs Law Society and VOSS Events. He has been invited to speak internationally on retail leasing. His articles have been published in the New South Wales Law Society Journal and on international Law Society websites.

Anthony is appointed as an expert (including the making of expert determinations) in relation to lease disputes.

Anthony’s advice is sought by Government, Government Ministers and their departments and Government instrumentalities in relation to issues with respect of and proposed amendments to Retail Leases Legislation. Anthony actively contributes and appears at Government enquiries on retail leasing.

He has achieved many positive results for clients - whether they be some of Australia's major retail chains, independent and family owned retail businesses,  international and Australian public companies, landlords and property investment companies or new businesses entering into a lease for the first time. He is very determined and committed to achieving exemplary and just outcomes for his clients.

Anthony accepts referrals from other lawyers and/or acts as agent for other lawyers, particularly in difficult retail lease matters.

Anthony’s advice is sought by Corporate Counsels and other lawyers to provide written advice and strategy in retail lease disputes.

Anthony represents clients in Mediation at the Retail Tenancy Unit and at proceedings in the Administrative Decisions Tribunal, and in the Courts.

He was admitted into practice in 1987 after completing a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (with Merit) at the University of New South Wales.

Anthony's previous legal experience includes employment as a solicitor with international law firm Baker & McKenzie and Partner with Herro & Martin Solicitors.

Anthony has extensive retail business experience, achieving in 1999 the Westfield Award for Retail Excellence in New South Wales (Men's Fashion.)

Anthony is a LEADR (http://leadr.com.au/) Accredited Mediator with National Accreditation being registered under the Mediation Act 1997 (ACT). He is a Mediator on the Law Society Mediators Panel and with the Dispute Resolution Unit of the Small Business Commissioner (previously named the Retail Tenancy Unit). He is very committed to working with parties to resolve disputes at Mediation.
